Collect all the orbs in each level by flying through the sculpture! The ever-changing appearance of Jason Middlebrook’s sculpture, Underlife in relation to the light shining upon it inspired this game. This work that is placed outside on the grounds of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery looks like a large tree stump that has been pulled up from the ground. Viewers can walk underneath the roots of this tree, which is covered all over with thousands of very small tiles of varied shapes. The tiles are made of shiny materials, such as bits of glass and mirror, which allows the real nature surrounding the sculpture to be reflected back to the viewer. The appearance of this sculpture is always changing depending upon the time of day and the season in which one looks at the work. Because the tiles are reflective, the work takes on a brilliant, shiny appearance in the sun or glistens when illuminated at night.
